Chairman - Adam Douglas  Adam is the founder and chairman of The Forgotten Heroes. He is a former serving soldier with the Junior Leaders Regiment Royal Armoured Corps (JLR RAC), the Regular Army and Territorial Army. He was wounded in action in 2003 during the war fighting phase of Op Telic and left permanently disabled.
Adam works for the NHS within disability services. He lives in Leeds with his wife Maria and their two daughters, Jessica and Sophie, where he is also a school governor.
Press & Publicity Officer - Charley Downey  Charley manages press liaison and publicity for The Forgotten Heroes. She is a former serving RAF Aircrew Officer. She was injured during a training exercise in 2000, which left her permanently disabled.
Charley is the Managing Director of Ohm Creative Engineering Ltd and also a published author. She lives in Leeds with her husband Andy.
Events Officer - David Sessions  David co-ordinates fundraising events for The Forgotten Heroes. He is a former serving Regimental Signals Warrant Officer within Special Forces. Permanently disabled on exercise, he is now retired and lives in his home town of Leeds, where he also chairs his local Neighbourhood Watch group spanning 700 residents and is vice-chairman of the Residents’ Association.
Operations Officer - Godfrey Warr  Godfrey is Operations Officer for The Forgotten Heroes. He directly compliments the role of David Sessions in organising Fundraising events and liaises with other or
ganisations for direct sponsorship and funding. He is a former Electronic Technician in the Royal Navy , where he served upon such ships as HMS Eagle , HMS Brighton and HMS Aurora in various roles such as Radar, Telecommunications and Guided Weapons .
After a 40+ year career in electronics, is now retired due to ill health. Although he has Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis, he still retains some degree of mobility albeit permanently disabled.
He lives in Leeds with his fiance Judith.
Fundraising Officer - Maria Douglas  Maria manages our fundraising initiatives. She was the inspiration for our work when she became Adam's carer after he was wounded in Iraq. She works both at Our Lady’s Catholic School, Leeds; and as a hairdresser.
Maria is married to our Chairman, Adam, and they have two children, Jessica and Sophie.
Fundraising Officer - John Ward  John also manages fundraising initiatives. He is currently serving in the Territorial Army in 299 Parachute Squadron Royal Engineers based in Wakefield with a combined service of over 28 years to date. John works in the oil and gas industry in the North Sea off the coast of Aberdeen and volunteers as an employment mentor.
John is married to Nicky and they live in Leeds with their 3 children, Connie, Charlotte and Jonathan.
