14 July 2011. Welcome to the 'Great NAAFI Tea Break'. We’re urging businesses, schools, community groups and individuals to help us raise funds and awareness by 'putting the kettle on' in a nationwide event known as 'The Great NAAFI Tea Break'.
Businesses and individuals are being invited to hold a tea break to help raise funds and awareness.
The NAAFI has stood for a little bit of comfort for serving soldiers, sailors and airmen for generations, and NAAFI tea is an iconic image which embodies that. We’re asking people to arrange a tea break with a slight difference. Whether it's with your work-mates, school, club or neighbours, get together for a brew, and bring cakes and biscuits, whether you make them yourself or got them from the supermarket. Ask people to make a contribution for the tea and goodies, and sit back and enjoy a break!
The 'Great NAAFI Tea Break' is scheduled for 10.30am on 14th July, but people can take part outside this time to suit them.
It can be as big or small as you like - from a few friends or colleagues sharing a cup of tea and a packet of biscuits, to a large gathering with a bake sale or raffle. You could even put up bunting and flags for an Empire Day-style tea-party feel.
