Cassiobury Masonic Lodge (No 3234) based in Watford have generously donated to The Forgotten Heroes through their annual dinner. Leisa Baker, whose husband is this year’s President of the Lodge, explained their choice:
"My husband is an army veteran and we have experience with caring for injured veterans but, rather than choosing a large organisation to be our 'Charity of the Year', we felt that we wanted to donate to a smaller charity doing the work that is frequently forgotten. We typed 'forgotten heroes' into the web and found The Forgotten Heroes. They seemed to be all about everything we were looking for as an organisation to support, as it always seems to be the carers for our service veterans who have the ongoing, thankless task when the dust has settled. I gave a speech explaining the work of the charity at the dinner and we took a collection. We look forward to working with The Forgotten Heroes more in the future."
The trustees of The Forgotten Heroes would like to extend their sincere thanks to Leisa and all at the Cassiobury Lodge. |
